Located in the Jemez Mountains of Northern New Mexico, the "Yellowstone of the Southwest" features the Valle Grande, Redondo Peak (elev. 11,254), the East Fork of the Jemez River, the San Antonio River, hot springs, thousands of elk, hunting, fishing, and hundreds of square miles of stunning natural beauty a mile and a half high.
VallesCaldera.com has been taking some time off since the end of December’s lame-duck session of Congress.
We will now resume shining a light on the management decisions being made at the taxpayer-owned scenic crown jewel of Northern New Mexico, as well as efforts by members of our community to increase public access at the Valles Caldera National Preserve and to transfer management of the Preserve to the National Park Service.
